Lovers of Sweet Autumn Clematis will appreciate this non-invasive alternative. Summer Snow is sterile and does not set, so it doesn't spread invasively or produce vexing volunteer seedlings across the landscape. The individual flowers, which bloom en masse, are slightly larger than Sweet Autumn, and bloom longer. Summer Snow is a superior performer and better-behaved as well.
Bred in Russia from the native species Clematis vitalba and Clematis potanini, Clematis Summer Snow is an overlooked addition to the landscape to define the garden. Allow Summer Snow to grow unattended if the space is ample, and it will create a blanket-like display. Clematis 'Summer Snow'
